Does your reverse mortgage  web site contain the five essential pages ?
Post by Sam Collins
web-button

Building a successful  reverse mortgage web site is like baking a cake.  For the web site to be really good, it must include essential main ingredients.
Your web site must have a standard navigation bar and include the following:
1.  Home Page
2.  Products section
3.  About Us (or me)
4.  Testionials
5.  Contact Us

Some other common pages should include an articles page, FAQ’s. resources, links, events and new page.   Always have something to appeal to your visitor.

These are the basics you must have for your reverse mortgage web site, but there is more.   Your web site should have a logical and easy navigation.  You visitors should not have to think about getting around on your site.  You want to make sure your name and logo are visible on every page.

Here are 3 questions you should ask, as if you are the vistior:
1.  Should the visitor have to give a lot of thought as to where they need to go.  In other words, the link sent the visitor somewhere they did not want to go.

2.  The visitor wants to go back, but the home page link was missing.

3.   The arrow back did not work!

Oh no!  Your  potential client just got lost in cyberspace, with no way to go and no way to contact you!

Would you believe there is more to  having a successful web site?  Stay tuned while we navigate to success on the web!

Do You Need a Reverse Mortgage Web Site ?
post by Sam Collins
www

To be successful in any venture, you must make use of multiple media  sources.  The Internet is one media you definitely should consider.  The internet  spans the global market and domestic market alike, and it is vital that you take advantage of this media.

The internet is a very cost effective medium for all business.  It offers convenience to your prospective senior client and as an added convenience it is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Your internet web site  never gets sick or takes a vacation!

I find it interesting that many mortgage originators do not think that Seniors access the web and add to that, most originators do not think that Seniors use email.  Hold on to your keyboards.  Seniors  60+ are accessing the web in record numbers and it is the largest segment of new users coming on the web daily.

Why are Seniors utilizing the web?  Simple!  They want information and lots of it.  They are in no hurry to rush out to do a reverse mortgage, so they want to make sure they have their information and all of their questions are  answered before proceeding.

The other reason seniors use the web is to buy!  Yes, some have already gone through the information gathering and are now convinced that moving forward to do a reverse  is in their best interest.   So, having a reverse mortgage web site is smart business!

A reverse mortgage web site  has to be different than your standard same old same old forward mortgage.

Here’s what I think your reverse mortgage web site  needs:

  1. It has be informative and educational.  Don’t be shy to share.
  2. It has to be personal.  It must contain something about you. Even if you work for a large company, you need a URL that talks about  you.
  3. It has to contain a response mechanism and some way for the client to step up and order information or contact you.
  4. It must contain testimonials from past clients, pictures along with comments.
  5. It must have a way to download any response directly back to your system that gathers in the lead automatically and gives you a means to contact them.  We like http://www.aweber.com autoresponder.
  6. You must respond back with a series of contact follow ups,  including one on one phone call and introduction of who you are and some information that begins to establish trust.  Our CRM is available in both on line and off line product.
  7. Your goal has to be to capture a new prospective senior client, but be realistic, some will only want your information.   (don’t dispair)
  8. SEO.  Search engine optimization.  Make sure you use search engine optimization to promote your web site.  (this topic alone is an art in itself)
  9. CPC, marketing.  Cost per click…Be sure to utilize google  to drive client to your web site.  (another topic all to itself).
  10. Choosing  a Domain Name.  It doesn’t have to be fancy.  Keep it simple and keep it personal to you and your local trading area. Remember, you are in the reverse mortgage business.  We use http://www.hostway.com  or http://www.godaddy.com

Now what do you do next  to get a web presence.  There are tons of if not hundreds of web hosting and web building companies.
